How to Make Rubber Band Airplanes
- 1). Fold the piece of paper in half once so that the seam runs parallel to the long sides of the sheet of paper, and then unfold it.
- 2). Hold the paper with the seam running from bottom to top, and fold the top left corner down so that it meets the seam, and repeat for the top right corner.
- 3). Grab the top right corner of the piece of paper, where it begins to bend in to create the fold created in Step 2, and fold it down to meet the center seam, creating a more steeply angled nose, and repeat for the left side.
- 4). Fold along the center seam.
- 5). Grip the top of the right flap, and create a fold parallel to the center seam, so that the top of the flap bends down to be level with the center crease. The fold should be made to the outside, away from the crease, to create a wing, and repeated for the left flap to create the second wing.
- 6). Take a piece of tape and wrap it around the body of the plane, about 5 inches in from the pointed nose.
- 7). Cut a notch into the bottom of the plane in the center of the tape, by making a cut perpendicular to the bottom of the plane which is 1/4-inch long, and a second cut that travels down from the apex of the first cut at a 45-degree angle toward the back of the plane.
- 8). Hold one end of the rubber band in your left hand, and the other end in the notch of the plane with your right hand.
- 9). Pull back with your right hand to stretch the rubber band, then release to launch your plane.
