    • 1). Position the actuator at the desired location on the louver bracket to drive the louver operating lever.

    • 2). Mark the position of the four 3/8-inch bolt holes in the actuator mounting plate on the louver bracket. In the center of the mounting bolthole pattern, mark the position of the actuator stem hole. The actuator stem hole should be 13/16 inches to 1 inch in diameter.

    • 3). Drill the marked holes in the louver mounting bracket with a power drill and appropriate size bits.

    • 4). Mount the actuator on the louver mounting bracket using the four supplied 3/8-inch bolts. Tighten the mounting bolts in a rotating pattern to 16 foot pounds of torque.

    • 5). Blow out both air supply lines before attachment, to clear any dirt or debris.

    • 6). Coat the male threads of two 1/4-inch threaded adapters with non-hardening thread sealant. Install the adapters into the air inlet ports of both filter regulators located on the actuator's exterior bracket.

    • 7). Attach a 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch air line to each of the threaded adapters.

    • 8). Install a male adapter in the control signal conduit connector. Attach the control signal conduit to the adapter, and thread the control signal wires into the transducer box on the side of the actuator. Attach the two control signal wires to the corresponding terminals inside the transducer.

    • 9). Set up the louver blades and the actuator for either Fail Open or Fail Closed operation. For Fail Open operation, close the louvers completely and fully extend the actuator stroke arm. For Fail Closed operation, close the louvers completely and fully retract the actuator stroke arm. After positioning to desired setting, connect the actuator clevis on the end of the stroke arm to the louver operating lever.

Verify that the compressed air supply is clean, dry and oil-free and that the total air pressure of both lines does not exceed 100 p.s.i.

Operate the actuator several times, and make sure the louvers operate freely and the actuator and linkage do not bind at any point in their travel.
