How Can I Get People to Stay Out of My Private Life?
- 1). Refrain from gossiping with others about their personal lives. If you routinely discuss the lives of family members, friends or co-workers, they will probably start asking you questions about your personal life.
- 2). Change the subject in a polite manner whenever someone asks you intrusive questions. If he persists, or tries to pry further into your personal life, firmly tell him that you don't want to talk about it, that it's none of his business and that you are uncomfortable. Saying one or all of these things should cause the questioner to back off.
- 3). Avoid replying to the phone calls, text messages and emails of someone attempting to pry into your personal life. By not replying and returning her messages, you are effectively letting the her know that your personal life is none of her business. After not hearing from you, she should get the hint and stop prying.
