Frozen Cherry Limeade
When Bread Winners Café announced that they were hosting a tasting event to introduce their new summer cocktails, I thought "How great is my job?!" It was my duty to responsibly sample that new menu and then somehow be able to remember what it was I liked about the cocktails. How is this possible? I take good notes.
The new menu is broken down into three categories: Hangover Elixirs, The Signatures, and The Skinny.
There were so many tasty beverages to sample. To make it easy, I'm sharing my top 5 favorite cocktails with you. I would recommend anything on the menu.
My most favorite drink of the night was the Frozen Cherry Limeade. From the Signature Cocktail Menu, it was a perfectly blended concoction of Three Olives Cherry Vodka, limeade, cherry juice and ice. It's slushy, tart, not-too-sweet and extremely refreshing. I highly recommend this adult beverage over the next few days when DFW sees some triple-digit temperatures.

BW's Bloody Mary
Let the record show that I've never listed a Bloody Mary as my favorite drink -- ever -- so this is going to shock some of the people who know me best. Bread Winners' Bloody Mary is one of the best-tasting, most highly-seasoned (without being toosalty) Bloodies that I've ever sampled. The fact is, I like a Bloody Mary if it doesn't taste like a simple can of tomato juice. "Doctor it up" has always been my motto.
I asked for the secret ingredient. Shhh. I was told that it's white pepper. The crazy thing is that the item that absolutely made the drink was the garnish. Does that even sound possible? BW's Bloody Mary was topped off with a jalapeno pepper and bacon. Oh heavenly pork! What doesn't taste better when bacon-wrapped?
After tweeting a photo of this Texanized brunch beverage, I got a reply asking where I was drinking Bloody Marys. See, I have surprised my followers.
From the Hangover Elixirs Menu, I know this will fast become a summertime favorite as well as a brunch favorite.

Basil Berry Cooler
The Basil Berry Cooler could easily be in a tie for first place in the refreshing cocktail category. From the Signature Drink menu, this cocktail is made from fresh basil and blackberries which are muddled, then vodka added and served on the rocks for the perfect summertime beverage. Creative. Colorful. Delightful. $10.

It's from the Hangover Elixers menu, but Tito's Texas Sunrise is a delightful cocktail that you'll want to enjoy all day long. It's an artistic drink because the denser grenadine settles at the bottom of the glass and the fresh orange juice and Tito's vodka layer on top, creating a sunrise. How can you not love a drink served in a boot?! Some prefer a Tequila Sunrise. I prefer a Tito's Texas Sunrise.

Let's face it. This is Dallas. We are obsessed with "skinny" anything. And many of us are secretly cutting calories here or there so we can indulge in a sweet dessert.
BW offered three signature skinny drinks on the menu: the skinny Cosmo, Margarita and Lemon Drop. Each beverage boasted only 125 calories. How is that even possible? Sugar-free sweet 'n sour mix is one secret ingredient.
I loved all three skinny minis but I'll feature the Lemon Drop because its always been one of my favorite drinks.
Order a Skinny Lemon Drop and you'll get citrus vodka, fresh lemon and a sugared rim. It's not a 2-ounce sampler drink either. It's in a legitimate martini glass. You don't be disappointed in any of the drinks on the Skinny Menu. And you won't need to feel guilty either. 125 calories. $10 each.
