Noten Side Effects
- In clinical studies with atenolol, as detailed by eMedTV, the most common side effects were experienced by 18 to 26 percent of participants. These included tiredness, low blood pressure and slow heart rate.
- Depression, dizziness, fatigue, cold hands or feet and shortness of breath were reported by 6 to 13 percent of participants.
- Many other less common side effects were reported. These included decreased blood pressure when standing up, diarrhea, drowsiness, increased dreaming, leg pain, lethargy, lightheadedness and nausea.
- Serious side effects call for medical attention. Although unlikely, a person taking Noten may experience chest pain, confusion, fainting, irregular heartbeat, sudden weight gain, tingling or numbness in the hands or feet and worsening of asthma.
- Rarely, some people have an allergic reaction to Noten. Signs include difficulty swallowing, rash or hives, itching, swelling, wheezing and difficulty breathing.
- Patients with angina or heart disease should not stop using Noten suddenly, as this may make these conditions worse. Noten use must be discontinued gradually under a doctor's supervision.
