  Friends or family members often plan and host a lingerie shower for the bride-to-be so that she has a nice selection of beautiful items for her honeymoon and after. Planning the shower requires ideas that align with the theme of the party. From the invitations to the refreshments, a bit of forethought will go a long way in making your bride-to-be's shower a wonderful occasion.
  
  

Invitations

• Craft your own invitations or enlist the help of an online resource such as zazzle.com or paperstyle.com that offers lingerie-themed invitation templates--such as a corset or bra and panties--that you can customize and order. If you use plain invitations, include a poem that will give guests an idea of how conservative or risque the party might be such as: "Join us for an occasion to outfit Rebecca in silk and lace. She is in need of some tasteful lingerie to make her groom's heart race." Glue pieces of lace to a traditional invitation to make it fit the theme.
  
  

Activities

  Honeymoon Panties: Purchase a number of white or light-colored cotton panties in the bride's size. Give a pair to each guest along with a permanent marker. Instruct the guests to write or draw on the panties to create "Honeymoon Panties." Ask the bride to model each pair on top of her clothes and give out small prizes to the guests who created the "Most Original," "Funniest," and "Most Beautiful" pairs of panties.
  
  Model the Teddy: Before the party, place a lightweight teddy bear in a gift box and wrap it with lingerie-themed wrapping paper. Have guests arrange their chairs in a circle. Play a song from a CD on a player loud enough for everyone to hear. Instruct guests to pass the package from person to person and explain that whoever is holding the package when the music stops will have to open the package and put on the "teddy" inside. Guests will hurry to pass the package to avoid having to model the lingerie.
  
  

Refreshments

• Cut shapes out of cookie dough with lingerie-shaped cookie cutters, bake them and decorate them with white and pick icing; or order a cake that is shaped like a piece of lingerie, such as a bustier or a bra, from a custom cake maker. Arrange bite-sized pieces of cheese, fruit and gourmet crackers on trays covered with lacy doilies. Hand-dip strawberries in milk or white chocolate, or set up a fondue machine with chocolate dipping sauce for guests to dip strawberries. Place lingerie-themed paper plates and napkins in the food and beverage area for guests to use. Serve a cocktail or a "mocktail" to each guest. If that's too fancy, have soft drinks and juices available for the guests.
  
  

Lingerie-Related Party Favors

• Create silk heart sachets and fill them with fragrant potpourri to give to the guests as party favors. The guests can put the sachets in their own lingerie drawers at home. Buy a large bottle of lingerie wash and some tiny plastic bottles with lids. Fill each bottle with lingerie wash, put the lid on the bottle and tie a pink ribbon around the neck of the bottle.
