How to Draw People That Don't Look Like Stick Figures
- 1). Use a pencil to draw an oval in the top middle of your paper, proportionate to the size you want the final figure to be. Draw a "plus sign" through the middle of the oval. This shape serves as the head; the "plus" serves as a guide to correctly placing facial features.
- 2). Draw an upside-down trapezoid slightly underneath the oval to represent the torso of your person. Then draw a circle, the same width as the thinner part of the trapezoid, underneath the torso. This represents the pelvic region. Add a vertical line to both sides of the pelvis that connect to the torso. Erase the lines in between the two shapes to make your figure appear as one solid shape.
- 3). Add two lines underneath the oval that connect the head to the torso, thus making the neck. Draw stick-figure-style arms to the "shoulders" of the upper torso and stick-figure legs underneath the pelvis. These serve as guidelines; draw tubular rectangles over each stick-figure limb; then erase the sticks.
- 4). Add in the facial details as you see fit, using the plus sign as a guideline. Eyes are situated in the middle (not the top) of the human head.
