How to Mix Guava Butter
- 1). Wash the guavas and slice in half. Remove the seeds with a teaspoon. Slice the guava into 10-inch thick slices.
- 2). Place the guava slices into a large pot and add just enough water to cover the guavas. Place on the stove over medium high heat and cook until very tender.
- 3). Strain the guavas from the water. Place in a sieve and mash the guava pieces, removing excess water and leaving only pulp.
- 4). Measure the amount of guava pulp you have and pour into a bowl. Add an equal amount of sugar to the mashed guava.
- 5). Add one teaspoon of lime juice to the guava mixture, or more to taste.
- 6). Pour the mixture into a pot, and bring to a boil. Let it cook for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens.
- 7). Allow mixture to cool. Pour into jelly jars or use immediately.
