Okay, on to the biggest pain in the butt on the show, Stacy. She is very happy to be living with Rex, but she is not happy about having Shane around and as long as he wants to be with his dad, she can’t say much. However, she got a break when Shane woke up and was feeling ill. Rex rushed Shane to the hospital fearing he was rejecting the bone marrow transplant and Gigi met them there. Gigi was in no mood to mess with Stacey and it was pretty funny when Stacy said that she had an upset stomach earlier and maybe Shane had the same thing.

Gigi, knowing she had put some spoiled sauce on Stacy’s burger just stood there and curtly said, “I doubt it.” So it turned out that Shane was okay and had just eaten too much junk food, but that was enough for Gigi to put her foot down and demand that Shane come home with her. Shane wants nothing to do with his mother and Rex is not too thrilled to insist that he go with her, but good old Auntie Stacy convinces Rex that it is better for him to put his foot down and make Shane go home with his mother. Rex doesn’t want to be away from Shane but when Gigi suggests he come home with them, he refuses and makes Stacy a very happy girl. She couldn’t care less if Shane collapsed at her feet; she’d step over him to get to Rex. It is really time for Gigi to put Stacy in her place. She has gotten the upper hand way too many times at this point and enough is enough.

So once she gets rid of Shane, Stacy is a happy camper until she realizes she has to find a way to stay with Rex. She tells him she is going to look for a job and starts looking for apartments and puts on this whole act about how she can’t afford an apartment without a good paying job, so maybe he’ll hit the road with a Vegas show and if Shane happens to need her she’ll only be a couple of days away.

What is wrong with Rex? He’s turning into one of those stupid men who believes anything a poor damsel in distress whispers I his ear. It took him about five seconds to tell Stacy she could stay as long as she needs to. Someone please save me from these ridiculous, predictable storylines!

I wonder how Stacy will weather the coming storm because now not only does she have her former boss hounding her for the money she stole from him, but now that Kyle has been arrested for blackmailing Natalie and Jared, he calls the only person he can think of to bail him out and that is Stacy. He threatens to expose her fake bone marrow plot if she doesn’t come up with the money to help him and hey, he’s got nothing to lose while she has everything to lose.

In closing, I have to bring up something I find obnoxious and it is a phrase that I think every character has used on the show recently. In almost every relationship, I keep hearing the phrase, “It’s complicated.” Gigi said it to Shane when he was so upset about her supposed affair with Brody; Natalie said it to Jessica about Kyle knowing something about Chloe; Todd said it to Starr when he was trying to explain what has been going on with the baby and on and on. I think I heard that phrase at least three times last week. Yes, on soaps it is complicated to tell the truth. No, it’s not complicated; it is almost impossible!

I did like the scenes where Marty and Cole finally got to sit together and she told him about all the memories she had of him growing up. Those were very nice scenes and of course who could forget “Little Todd” (Jack) finally realizing that he should show some gratitude and said, “Hey McPain, thanks for saving my mom and dad.” Well, he did call John “McPain” but let’s be real; he showed a still-decent side of the little boy he is so hopefully giving John his thanks and that big hug means he’s not a lost cause yet. I would have loved to see him hug John in from of Todd. Yes, I’m greedy.

In closing, I have to hand out some congratulations to Susan Haskell and Bree Williamson on their Daytime Emmy nominations. This show never receives enough recognition for its actors’ work, but I think these two are worthy nominees.

See ya next week.
