On Becoming A Reiki Practitioner - What The "Usui" System Is - What Happens During And Aft
Many people begin their Reiki journey with the "Usui" system.
When we give Reiki classes and workshops in Washington State, for example, we start with this foundation, and move forward from there.
"Usui" is the name of the man given credit for rediscovering Reiki and distilling its system for others to learn.
As with many Reiki classes for those becoming a Reiki practitioner, ours in Washington State start with a one day workshop.
During this Reiki workshop, students often start with a guided meditation, then learn the guidelines, hand positions, practice on each other, and receive the attunements.
The "attunement" ceremony is performed by one of the Reiki Masters present, allowing you to now access energy and channel it to promote healing in others and themselves.
Often following the attunements, the new practitioner experiences a personal cleansing for anywhere from a few hours to three to four weeks because the attunements have raised the vibrational rates of the energy centers.
From now on, the practitioner channels greater quantities of energy.
This is why those who take Reiki seriously ask new students to wait in between achieving higher Reiki levels.
The stronger each foundation is, the better your future practice will be.
In our Reiki classes and workshops in Washington State, we've had students experience cleansing that were quite obvious, such as almost feeling as though they had taken a diuretic, to those that suddenly felt insights towards solutions.
The Usui system of Reiki consists of three levels (or degrees) of Reiki.
When first becoming a Reiki practitioner, the first degree (or Level I) enables you to channel and balance energy for healing yourself, other people, plants, and animals.
With the second degree or Level II, Reiki the practitioner is introduced to the three symbols of the Usui System of Reiki.
At this level, you can access higher energy vibrational rates for distance healing across time and space (some call this "Reiki prayer).
Level II also promotes increased intuitive awareness in the practitioner.
Reiki Level III, or the third degree, or Master level, is traditionally achieved by those planning to teach and practice Reiki as one's vocation and, historically, includes a period of apprenticeship with the initiating Master.
Along with access to higher vibrational rates than those available with Level II Reiki, the Reiki Master apprentice receives a master symbol which enables them to initiate new students into the Usui System of Reiki.
In Northwest Washington State, Reiki practitioners gather regularly to give and receive Reiki, and to voluntarily give Reiki to those in need, both as a form of apprenticeship.
