- 1). Run one of the two pickup assy (the bar where strings sit on the face of the guitar) wires to the output jack where the cord connects the guitar to the amp. The standard Fender Strat has three pickups that enable the sound of the strings to be transferred to the amp.
- 2). Run the other assy wire for each pickup to the top of the three controls. A control is a round knob that is turned to alter the tone, for example. All three pickup assy wires should run to the same control.
- 3). Run the main control to the secondary control with a single black wire. Connect the third control to the second control by a separate black wire.
- 4). Connect the white wires from the control knobs to the output jack.
