Do you know about Resuscitators? Well it is a process of inflate the lungs of an unconscious person who is not breathing properly, in order to keep them oxygenated and alive.

Simple, if you think about it, but it's a very complicated process. Frankly speaking Resuscitation of the injured patient is often a Herculean task unless you are a much trained person. Some people don't even know the ABC of Resuscitators. In this article I am going to summarize the essential components of the resuscitation process.

Well it is always advisable then please don't try to apply these things to someone who is in need, unless if you had some practical training of the same. Though anyone might be able to face some accidents, and they would at least help some person who is applying these methods to save life of someone. In this way knowing these things will become important.

Here are some components of Resuscitators:

Airway and cervical spine control: These are used for checking and maintaining airway patency. With the help of them, people can remove debris or food particles which may obstruct the breathing through mouth, thus allows adequate air entry to the injured person.

Cervical spine protection can be achieved with the help of rigid neck collars, head strapping's, and supportive sand bags.
Other than airway and cervical spine control resuscitation also helps in breathing, if there is no spontaneous breathing by the victim.

Though this assisted breathing is only possible once the airway patency is confirmed, else it becomes life taking as well. Ambu Bagging, mouth to mouth breathing, and mechanical ventilation are done as per the requirement.

The next step is to check the circulation of the injured person. In this step normally the radial pulse is palpated, along with blood pressure measurement.

After doing all these medications are also required. But medication should always be given by the supervision of a trained person only.

As per one of my friends who is associated with a Resuscitators Manufacturers, doing or following all these are not enough unless a safe environment is not provided to the patients. So the process of resuscitation ends with maintaining a safe and secure environment to the patients and to the people who are saving their life.
