Claiming Taxes from W-2s and 1099s

    • 1). Determine the total amount withheld on all of your W-2 forms by adding the amounts in box 2 of each form.

    • 2). Check to see if there is an amount in box 4 on any of your 1099 forms. If so, add these numbers together.

    • 3). Add the totals from Step 1 and Step 2 and put that number in box 61 of your Form 1040.

    • 4). Finish your Form 1040 as you normally would.

Claiming Taxes From 1040 ES Forms

    • 2). Add the amounts from each of the voucher forms and put the total amount on line 62 of Form 1040.

    • 3). Finish your Form 1040 as you normally would.
