This said, teenage Joan went off on her cause and made France win, cross-dressed as a male warrior. But success breeds envy, and then she was accused of being a witch and eventually killed in 1431. She was beatified in 1909 and made a saint in 1920.

Now the 600th anniversary of her birthday came up and President Sarkozy paid his respects to her at birth town Domrémy. But as in the past, Sarkozy proves himself to be a typical man with his very poor grasp of the female identity and psyche.
