A variety of fish species inhabits both coastal and deep-sea waters, challenging anglers of all skill levels. The best known and most heavily targeted sport fish of the Atlantic can weigh over 100-lbs. These fish deliver line-burning runs and adrenalin-filled fights, and a variety of names distinguishes them.
  
  

Big Game Fish

• The Blue Marlin is a popular sport fish located across the majority of the Atlantic Ocean. The fish derives its name from its cobalt blue coloring, spread across its back and dorsal fin. The Blue Marlin is one of a few species of salt water Marlin. The White Marlin, Atlantic Sailfish and Swordfish are close in appearance and size, and anglers find them throughout the Atlantic Ocean. These fish comprise the largest targeted sport fish in these coastal waters.
  
  

Tuna

• Anglers target a variety of Tuna throughout the Atlantic Ocean. These sport fish are popular among anglers for their taste and fighting ability. Of the many tuna species, anglers consider the Yellowfin, Bluefin, Blackfin and Bigeye as sport fish. These muscular fish rely on streamlined bodies to propel them towards a variety of prey. These fish hit bait with tenacity, diving deep into ocean waters. Tuna feed near the surface and are often active during the night.
  
  

Wahoo and Dolphin

• The long slender bodies of the Wahoo provide for excellent fights in mid-Atlantic waters. One of the fastest game fish found in the Atlantic, the Wahoo hit surface and subsurface bait. Anglers target these fish alongside Dolphin, another strong sport fish found in these waters. The Dolphin has a tapered body and long dorsal fin, allowing it to propel itself out of the water to catch flying fish. The Dolphin is a favorite among sport fishermen for its aggressiveness and jumping ability.
