How to Shoot the Smith & Wesson .45 Colt Mountain Gun
- 1). Grip the Mountain Gun so that the web of flesh between your thumb and forefinger is pressed up against the "backstrap"--the flared portion of the handle that comes out just below the hammer of the pistol. This will afford you greater accuracy and control of the weapon when you fire.
- 2). Raise the Mountain Gun to approximately eye level and sight down the barrel at whatever you are aiming at.
- 3). Line up the front and back sights, then settle the tip of the front sight--still lined up, of course--over your target.
- 4). Squeeze the trigger smoothly and gently. The S&W Mountain Gun is typically set to fire after about three pounds of pressure is applied to the trigger.
- 5). Repeat the process as desired until the revolver is empty.
