In these days of high technology, you can now get a psychic reading through live chat.  You use instant messaging or online chatting to confer with a clairvoyant, medium or psychic.  There are advantages and disadvantages to this method, but there are several reasons why I recommend skipping it entirely.  Why do I say this?   Read on and you'll see! First, let's look at what live psychic chat really means. At its most basic, it's a reading from a psychic done online through "IM" (instant messaging).  It means talking to a psychic just like you talk to your friends online through chatting.  Different networks have slightly different styles. And some networks offer lots of features, doo-dads and extras.  This is great, right?  Why not use technology to make it a cooler experience? I'll tell you why – because at the very least it's strange.  At worst, it's extremely uncomfortable and distracting.  I hate it, actually.  And that means a lot coming from someone who loves a good psychic reading. Let me explain further.  When I get a reading, I want to be completely relaxed and focused.  I want to really concentrate on the session and connect with the reader.  In fact, I think being relaxed and comfortable is the main factor in having a positive experience with your reading. But here's what you get with live psychic chat.  There's a time lag that makes it really hard to communicate.  There are glitches and weird noises that come out of the computer.  You've got these moments where it freezes for a second or it drags.  And because the whole thing's so uncomfortable, I always go away from the reading feeling like I didn't quite "get it," or there are things I wish I'd said but was too flustered to. Even the most high tech platforms that I've used in the past always had a couple of glitches, and this really destroyed the experience for me. So, if I don't like live psychic chat, what do I recommend?  You might be surprised to hear this, but I recommend the good old-fashioned telephone. You're probably thinking: "The telephone?  That old thing!?"  And in response, I'd say, "That's right!" The telephone is old and it's comfortable.  There isn't one person you know who hasn't spent hours gabbing away on it.  It's comfortable and intimate, but not TOO intimate. Another advantage of the phone is that it doesn't give the reader a chance to "cold read" you.  A cold read is when they look at you and make guesses based on your appearance, your body language, the clothes you're wearing, etc.  This allows them to effectively "fake it."  They can't do this over the phone.  All they've got is your voice and their intuition! And the best news is that good phone psychics are inexpensive.  They're cheap, relaxed, intuitive… and lots of fun!
