How to Install Bolts for a Dock Ladder
- 1). Measure and drill holes through the dock that line up with the mounting holes of your ladder. The holes should be drilled into a dry location on the dock, and the holes' diameters should match the size of the mounting holes of the ladder. Choose bolts that correspond to the required diameter and depth.
- 2). Squeeze the marine silicon into the holes drilled in the dock and around the outside of the holes where the ladder will press against the dock. Bolt the ladder to the dock, securing the bolts with a washer and nut. Apply silicon around the washer and nut as well.
- 3). Wipe up any excess silicon that was squeezed out where the ladder is pressed against the dock. Allow the silicon to cure according to the recommended time on the package before putting weight on the ladder.
