- 1). Fill in the entire helmet area with a background color. If you belong to a team, team colors are a popular choice.
- 2). Create a design for the sides of the helmet. Broad line designs, webs or waves are popular choices, along with abstract patterns.
- 3). Draw the team or sponsor logo onto the back of the helmet. Some sponsors provide stickers for this purpose. If you do not have a team or sponsor, fill this area with an illustration that fits the space.
- 4). Overlay your rider number onto the sides of the helmet. Use a color that will stand out from your design. Choosing a contrasting color assists in this process.
