How to Tie a Purple Pupa
- 1). Secure your fishing hook in a vice. The hook should be situated so the vice is gripping right above the sharp end and the straight part of the hook body is parallel to the ground.
- 2). Hold the end of your purple wire and wrap it around the hook, starting right next to the curved part. Continue to hold it in place as you wrap the wire around the straight part of the hook. You should be working towards the end of the hook that has the loop head. Make as tight of loops as possible.
- 3). Grab your black thread and tie it to the hook near the loop head. Wrap the thread around the hook several times. Wiggle the thread to snap off the excess.
- 4). Place a dab of cement or super glue below the loop head and a bit towards the loop bend. Put a piece of black dubbing on the hook near the loop head. The dubbing should cover about one third down from the loop head towards the hook bend.
- 5). Secure the dubbing in place with a few thread loops and cut off the excess.
- 6). Push the wire wraps towards the loop head to tighten them. Cut off any excess wire that is sticking out with a wire cutter.
- 7). Add a drop of super glue to the wire wraps to secure them in place.
