104 80
    • 1). Determine the size of string required for your string trimmer. The most common size is .80. Refer to the owner's manual if you are unsure.

    • 2). Remove the cap that screws the spool onto the bottom of the trimmer.

    • 3). Take out the spool and remove any remaining string. Sometimes a small amount of string will remain in the spool. This must be removed before the new string can be loaded.

    • 4). Uncoil and cut a line of string about 6 feet long.

    • 5). Run the end of the string through the starter hole on the spool.

    • 6). Start to wind the string onto the spool. Most spools will have arrows or some other marking to show in which direction the string should be wound.

    • 7). Stop winding the string when you have about 6 to 8 inches remaining. This should be thread through the opening at the bottom of the spool.

    • 8). Put the spool back into the trimmer. Pull the end of the string through the hole on the side of the trimmer head. Screw the spool cap on.
