Lead Through Appropriate Diet
Being fit physically and mentally requires diligence.
The body needs all the proper nutrients in order to excel at a level that requires long hard hours of work.
Being able to endure the strong will of pressures to make bold decisions is essential as part of being humanly fit.
Amongst the many communities in our world health of the diet is not quite up to par to make a significant difference of your well being.
A common denominator amongst many is that we tend to eat more rice, less pasta and ready-to-eat cereals.
Many of us don't eat the so call healthy heart diet of breakfast for champs and/or that of the so called educated dietitian.
Though many of us enjoy the consumption of tomatoes, some of us are less likely to consume their fair share of vegetables.
Salads are not a common favored meal for many of us, particularly certain ethnic groups, who claim "Americans eat like rabbits and we don't like rabbit food".
In general the certain diet consist of high carbohydrates low on fiber, high beef, pork and poultry and low in low-fat or skim milk.
Some of us have a real tendency to consume high level of eggs and legumes and less likely to consume healthy fats such as fish oils and walnuts.
Many are less likely to intake daily vitamins and more likely to obtain there nutrients through bread, and bulky foods to fulfill their appetites.
One may ask what all this has to do with leadership development and promoting personal self-esteem.
The high rate of obesity in many communities and youth is alarming and the high rate of hypertension and diabetes of certain communities in adults is even more concerning.
Individuals need to refocus and redirect their eating habits by incorporating foods rich in fiber and rich nutritional value.
In order for some of us to be prepared for the surge of opportunities before our eyes in the coming years we will need to be ready, willing and able to lead with a healthy body physically and mentally.
We will be required to demonstrate leadership by example by being fit to handle the job.
