Marketing of any type can be expensive no matter how large the company.  Most attorneys need to market themselves and everyone has seen some of the cheesy television advertisements featuring people who were helped by an attorney or law office.  This is not exactly the most cost effective way to advertise for an attorney especially those who are from small law offices or who have their own private practice.  The good news is that there are some very inexpensive and effective attorney marketing techniques that can be used to gain more business.

• Websites – In this day and age, it is nearly impossible to be successful if you do not have a website.  The costs for these are not very high and are certainly more affordable than trying to create television advertisements.  A website needs to be promoted properly including blog and article marketing to get the search engine rankings higher.  Within a few months after posting a website on the Internet, most properly maintained websites can hit a page one or two search result.
• Advertising Online – This is where the money for marketing really needs to be spent.   A law office can have a one page website that is very basic, but there needs to be traffic driven there too.  There are many places where an attorney can advertise online and in many cases, the cost is very reasonable.  Simple create a banner ad and place them on websites for bail bonds or other websites that people who need an attorney may look at.  Tax attorneys can advertise on CPA websites.  Do not just leave this advertising to websites, go to public forums and advertise there as well.
• Public Forum – You do not have to stick with the public forums that are already on the Internet.  Most forum groups do not cost anything to begin and there are many forum companies that offer free forums to anyone who wants one.  If you are a trial attorney, create a forum that allows users to discuss strategies for winning their case or for getting advice.  This can be done for any type of attorney.  The law office can also post their own ad on their own forum which is even better.

It is important for any attorney or law firm to market themselves in order to make any money.  In these highly technologically advanced times, the days of the television attorney are gone.  Now the main recourse for any attorney or law firm is to get on the Internet and do their marketing using that medium.
