Past rulers, kings, and dictators worked very hard to keep the masses uneducated, and in the dark as to information which might help them and lift them up in society.
The reason they did this was simple, because the uneducated masses could be controlled much easier if they had less knowledge.
Nevertheless, I ask today if we really need to dummy down people to control them in modern-day societies.
I believe the answer is no, and I'd like to explain my calculations on this.
First, if our citizens are dummied down too much, we will then inadvertently end up choosing the wrong people for political leaders, as we draw upon the population for such, who have such a lack of knowledge they will make poor choices to run our civilization.
Those political leaders who are corrupt, and happen to have too little information and use it to exploit those masses, will do so using linear thought, and end up delivering grave unintended consequences.
This may not be too awfully terrible for those in power temporarily, but it will eventually cause the demise of the entire society and civilization, thus, making it almost impossible for it to progress to the next level in order to guarantee the very freedoms, liberty, and pursuit of happiness it claims as its foundational mission statement.
Censoring information on the Internet, and somehow believing that that will help our society and civilization sustain itself in the future is complete and utter nonsense.
Just as rogue regimes attempt to prevent information from getting in do so at their own peril, and future collapse.
Interestingly enough it will be at the hands of the mass mob, which could not be dummied down in the dark even with their limited ability to understand exactly what's going on.
Further, I would submit to you that those who have been pushed down, and denied access to information, once they learn what's been going on, with rise up and be mad as hell, and in that event they will be motivated like no other for their perceived justice, whatever that might be.
And it might not be pretty, because after all they've been denied a truthful and relevant education, or pertinent information to make the best decisions.
Do we really need to dummy down our populace to keep them under control? Absolutely not.
If we continue to do this, and I'm not speaking at any individual country, but rather as a global concept, there will be hell to pay in the future, in more than one nation.
Indeed, I believe some of this has to do with the Arab Spring, and some of the challenges and conflicts of very large nations with huge populations, their day of reckoning will come, if they continue to pursue this dummying down technique of censoring information.
It just won't work, it's never worked in history, and information is flowing faster than ever before in the present period, therefore it is even more crucial to allow it to flow, and not dam up the source.
Please consider all this and think on it.
