Jack Frost
Jack Frost (voice of Chris Pine) is called to be a Guardian along with Santa, Easter Bunny, Sandman and Tooth Fairy in the DreamWorks Animation epic adventure Rise of Guardians.
A young, charismatic and clever immortal, Jack Frost wields the power of the wind, storms, cold and snow in his staff. He is a loner and his personality is that of a mischievous rebel without a cause. Jack is one of the most likeable characters you've ever seen in an animated film.
He is so cool and handsome, but he has a depth of character that just draws you in. He longs to remember his past and is desperate for some sort of connection to others and purpose in life.
It's hard to imagine Jack being in any way different from the way he is in the film. But, according to William Joyce, he wasn't always going to be the boy he is now. "At first Jack Frost was going to be an adult who had been frozen forever -- sort of a Rip Van Winkle character," Joyce related. They were having trouble nailing down his character, and and then one day, one of the story guys said, "What if Jack Frost was a kid?" Joyce described:

Ten years of my thinking about him being a 30-year-old went away. I was like, that's perfect. I mean, a kid, a guy who's stuck forever being like 16, would be the most miserable thing in the world. Who wants to be that way forever? And all these sort of little bits of Peter Pan and James Dean, the idea of the outsider, the somewhat of a rebel...kind of began to fall into place. And that was an awesome moment.
