• Senior citizens with local neighborhood knowledge, extensive friend and colleague networks and personal charisma might enjoy working as a real estate agent. It's not necessary to hold a college degree before becoming a real estate agent, although many Realtors do have a college education. You will need to complete some coursework and pass a test before working as a real estate agent, however. • Some senior citizens love being around the energy and curiosity of children, making child care a viable job option for this demographic. You will need a college degree to work as a classroom schoolteacher, but it's not necessary for other child care jobs. Working in a daycare, serving as a preschool teacher's assistant or babysitting neighborhood children in your home are all options. Keep in mind that some child care jobs will require that you complete a certain number of child development college units, typically available through community colleges, and complete a background check.
