Are There Conspiracies Everywhere?
Did Man really walk on the moon? Did Jesus actually exist and if he did did he have children? Was Hitler part Jewish? I'm not a big fan of conspiracy theory. Neither am I supporter of those who refute conspiracy theories with their own questionable evidence.
The truth is, I myself am not head of huge corporation or organization like the CIA, nor am I a member of a mega-wealthy family like the Rockefellers. And I suspect that if I were, I wouldn't be leaking information either. Therefore I really don't know much and to tell the truth I'm rather blandly indifferent to the information I get from the media, though documentaries are often entertaining. And I do choose to believe a lot.
Why should I suspect after all that a robotics documentary on Discovery channel is outright lying? That just seems silly. I suppose I could adjust to such a world- one in which everything I heard or saw was suspect. It would be even more difficult to believe in conspiracy theories then, for it would require one to accept the fact that those running the show behind the conspiracy were clever enough to fool the public but not quite clever to cover their tracks so thoroughly that conspiracy theorists didn't catch them.
After all, if the great powers that be are so powerful, couldn't they just snuff out the watch dogs before anything went public? It all seems like a spy vs. spy game doesn't it? I have no doubt that conspiracies happen all the time, and I don't find it at all surprising either. No one with a fair amount of history under her belt would. I can see the entertainment value, in the obsessive sense, of following and adding to such theories, but I also believe that the big events in history usually come out one way or another.
Do I really believe that a lone gunman assassinated President Kennedy? Who does these days? Everyone by now knows that the problem of the Native Americans was not solved by reservations but by genocide. I'm pretty certain something fishy was going on during 9/11/2001 but exactly what I can't say. I'm pretty sure though that two huge skyscrapers went down in flames. That was not faked.
