How to Calculate the Initial Internal Energy

    • 1). Square the object's final velocity, measured in meters per second. If it hits the ground traveling at, for instance, 50 m/s then 50^2 = 2,500.

    • 2). Multiply the result by the object's mass. If it weighs, for instance, 80kg then 2,500 x 80 = 200,000.

    • 3). Divide the result by 2. 200,000 / 2 = 100,000. This is the object's internal energy before it falls, measured in joules.
