How to Clean a Plastic Coffee Pot
- 1). Fill a sink with hot water and enough detergent to make the water sudsy.
- 2). Soak your coffee pot, and lid if applicable, in the water for about a half hour and then wash it by hand with a microfiber cloth.
- 3). Scrub away any stains or mineral deposits with a soft-bristled brush or non-abrasive scrubbing pad. If you have difficulty removing a stain or deposit, sprinkle baking soda on the stain and then gently scrub it away.
- 4). Rinse the coffee pot thoroughly under hot water to remove soap residue. If you still see stains or deposits, boil distilled white vinegar in a teakettle or pot, pour the hot vinegar into the rinsed coffee pot, return the lid to the pot if applicable and let it steep for about six hours. Pour out the vinegar, scrub the stain with a brush or pad, and then rinse again.
- 5). Place the coffee pot in a dish drainer to air-dry or wipe the pieces dry with a soft cloth.
