Bottle Cap Pumpkin Magnet Craft
Follow these directions and use a bottle cap and chenille stem to make a magnet that looks like a pumpkin.
- Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- Frozen Juice Can Lid
- Orange, Bumpy Chenille Stem
- Green Chenille Stem
- Scrap of Green Felt or Craft Foam
- Black Seed Beads
- Magnet
- Craft Glue
- Scissors
Instructions:
Bend the orange, bumpy chenille stem on the skinny sections so it sort of looks like this VVVV. Pinch the folded sections together. Stick one side of the folded edges so they catch on the inside edge of the bottle cap. Stick the other folded edges inside the opposite side of the bottle cap. Fluff up the center part of the chenille stem and make it look rounded like a pumpkin.
Cute a 1-inch piece of green pipe cleaner and stick it in the top of the pumpkin to be a stem. Cute two small leafs out of felt or craft foam and glue in place near the stem. Make eyes, nose, and mouth out of black seed beads.
Finally, glue a magnet on the back of the pumpkin. Once the glue is dry, hang up your pumpkin magnet where ever you choose!
