What is With All These So-Called Coaches All of a Sudden?

Ten years ago, there were very few folks with the label or Coach, and generally these were sports coaches, or folks specialized in various niches.
Today, my gosh, almost everyone I meet claims to be a coach, and interestingly enough most of them do not know a thing about high-achievers, and wouldn't even know one if they met one.
In fact, they themselves are not well achieved either.
You see, when unemployment went up many of the perpetually unemployed who folks paraded around as consultants, decided that "consulting" meant "unemployed" in society and therefore, moved to the more trendy word of coach.
Indeed, a whole industry sprung up of folks who had psychology degrees but couldn't get a real job.
And the schools cutting back laid off many psychologists.
Now we have far too many folks claiming to be coaches, and very few know what on Earth they are doing or talking about.
For me, as a former just under Olympic level athlete, the word coach means something much different, a coach is someone who helps you win, and helps you push yourself, through tough love, hard workouts, and commitment.
Today, folks just claim to be a coach, but they are not even achievers themselves.
They believe that they can psychologically manipulate folks into performance to the top tier, or at the very top of their genetic abilities.
This assumes the coaches are smarter than the coachees (athletes, small business owners) which is a complete leap in the coach's belief system, although, maybe some are.
Most are not.
This is because winners, real winners are quite capable of winning - those who can't teach, generally.
There are very few coaches these days who are achieved, and all the rest, well, they sure pretend to be.
Most of this pretend'ism in my opinion is a FRAUD on their clientele.
This is why we have so many small business, personal, and other types of coaches these days, and how they've hijacked the term from the sports sector, but don't be fooled.
I'm not, and we are watching.
