- 1). Get support. When you begin a ministry, getting support and backing from a local church will help you get off the ground and stay there much quicker and easier than if you go it alone. Go to the leaders of your church or another church in the area in which you plan on doing ministry. Lay out your ministry goals before the leaders and request both financial and spiritual support through prayers.
- 2). Create a team. The number of individuals that make up your mime ministry will vary depending on the type of performances you plan on doing. Team members should be familiar with how to mime or very willing and eager to learn. You should have at least a few professional or practiced mimes on your team who know what they are doing and can help others learn.
- 3). Determine your audience. As a mime ministry, you will be performing in front of an audience, so you must determine who that will be to narrow down the type of music and routines that you will perform. Some options include children, church congregations or simply eclectic art circles and the general public outside of the church community.
- 4). Choose a routine. Determine what you are going to mime. Many mime ministries choose to mime along with praise and worship music.
- 5). Practice. Set apart specific times each week, such as on weekends or week nights, to practice your mime performances. This will ensure that those who have never mimed before have ample time to learn and perfect the routine.
- 6). Mime! Plan to get out and mime for your targeted audience at least twice a month. Advertise your upcoming performances locally by handing out flyers or leaving them at local cafes and libraries. Ask your supporting church to highlight your ministry in the church bulletin, on the church website or through the announcements at the beginning of each service.
