It is a road I have been down many times. I would awake during a sound sleep and the room would be buzzing, at least I thought it was. In reality as I would find out later I was having Night Frights which were full blown anxiety attacks! I lived for a few years and did nothing about this condition. Finally I could not take it anymore and sought help.

What could I do? I thought I was dying until I went to the doctor'sappointment. He explained I was suffering from anxiety attacks. He had a grin on his face, because he could see that I had a greatly relieved look on my face. I actually thought I had a tumor. Well, I went home and thought about it, and realized I should have done some sooner. Waiting only compounds the condition. I had to learn the skills to deal with anxiety.

The solution was in learning not to be afraid of these attacks, but rather being pro-active in learning how to deal with them. How to fight back. There are trained people out there waiting to help. The training they can give you is so important. Here is an example: Our brains create a certain amount of serotonin, but as we age some of use do not produce enough of this serotonin to protect us. Serotonin is an enzyme that gives us our feeling od well being (peace of mind); consequently, we need help in doing so from our health provider.
