What Are the Benefits of Microventing Wallcovering?
- Because vinyl is not a porous material, moisture can build up in it, especially in a more damp or humid environment. This can lead to the growth of indoor mold, some types of which are toxic.
- Microvented wallpaper contains about 135 small holes per square inch. Microventing works well if the wallpaper has a woven backing, like polypropylene. However, perforations might weaken non-woven backing, like polyester and wood cellulose.
- Vinyl wallpaper is more durable and easier to clean than many other types of wallpaper, including those consisting of paper and acrylic. Making vinyl more breathable just adds to its benefits when used indoors.
