Home Inspectors Need Special Equipment
Crawl spaces are dirty and dark places that many home owners and home buyers do not consider looking into these areas until a situation arises.
It is important that when you are buying a home that has a crawl space that your home inspector actually enters these areas.
Not every home inspector does.
Most people can understand why some people do not enjoy entering dark dirty spaces.
There are nearly always spider webs and the space is just in general a dirty space.
I often discover moisture or evidence of past water intrusion in these areas.
I believe that it is important that these areas be inspected thoroughly.
To be able to inspect these area safely inspectors should have in their truck the equipment that is needed to do so.
One such item is a set of coveralls, I call it a "dirt suit".
I also recommend keeping a face mask.
The mask has filters to allows inspectors like myself to breath normally without breathing in dirt, dust, bits of insulation and any molds that are present.
The extra equipment I keep allows inspectors to inspect more thoroughly.
Be sure that when choosing a home inspector that they use similar equipment The thoroughness of a good inspector pays off everyday all over the country.
When you are looking for a home inspection or home inspector check to see if they actually enter the crawl space and if they have the equipment to aid them in "really" entering the crawl space.
