Whispers of the Frost
When I found the Whispers of the Frost recipe in The Old Waldorf-Astoria Bar Book it struck my interest for two reasons. The first was the name, considering the majority in the book are one word, and then I saw the ingredients and found that the mix of whiskey, sherry, and port was very interesting.
I'd like to think that the mix is perfect for those first days of autumn when a light frost covers everything and that the dark profile is meant to warm you up. Yet, at the same time the fruit medley garnish (use what you want and have fun) gives that remembrance of the season that just passed. This is a fantastic classic drink that more people should try.
