How to Cook on a Chrome Griddle
- 1). Turn on the heat. The procedure for doing so may vary from one model to another, but usually involves turning a knob to ignite the pilot light, or to turn on the gas and then the pilot light. If your ignition process was not successful, make sure that the gas has been switched off while you consult your manufacturer's instruction manual.
- 2). Set the temperature and wait for the griddle to reach the optimum temperature before proceeding. This may take a minute or two.
- 3). Pour the oil onto the griddle and use the spatula to spread it out over the cooking area. There is no need to spread oil over areas of the griddle that will not be utilized.
- 4). Place the food on the griddle and let it cook. For optimal results, meat should only be turned once. Consult your recipe for exact cooking times. You can also check the food's process with a spatula.
- 5). Once the food has cooked, remove it from the griddle and turn off the gas.
