    • 1). Put newspaper down on a work surface. Spray paint the outside of the empty 16-ounce water bottle and the two soda cans with black spray paint. Let the paint completely dry.

    • 2). Spray paint both sides of the toy rifle with black spray paint. Let the paint completely dry.

    • 3). Cut off the tops and bottoms of the two soda cans with the utility knife. Place the two soda cans through one end of the PVC pipe until they come to the center of the pipe. Tape the two touching sides of the soda cans together with duct tape. Smooth the duct tape down.

    • 4). Cut off the barrel, trigger and trigger guard of the toy rifle with the hacksaw.

    • 5). Cut an 1/8-inch diameter hole in the back of the toy rifle at the hammer with the utility knife.

    • 6). Place the tripod screw at the top of the table top tripod into the hole at the back end of the toy rifle.

    • 7). Cement the tripod screw into place using bonding glue. Let the bonding glue set for a day.

    • 8). Place one end of the PVC pipe into the hole of the toy rifle where the barrel was. Apply bonding glue to hold the PVC pipe to the toy rifle. Let the bonding glue set for a day.

    • 9). Open the tripod legs of the table top tripod. Place the tripod legs down on the ground.

      Angle the airsoft mortar launcher that you have made towards a target on the horizon. Drop your plastic soda bottle "mortar" inside the end of the PVC pipe to pretend to launch a mortar.
