  Mandi, located on the banks of the Beas River in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India, is known for its mountain lakes and 81 ancient temples. Formerly the capital of the colonial state of Mandi, it is now the district headquarters and commercial center of the region. Today, it is a tourist destination known as the gateway to the Kullu Valley, which offers a number of excursions to all of the local attractions.
