What"s the 2014 Horoscope for Scorpio?

Saturn's Kitchen

One of my Scorpio friends, a success in her field, recently wrote:  "I'm living the life of my dreams...but it's killing me!"  Perhaps it's like a Scorpio, a sign of extremes, to use language of mortality, in casual conversation.

As a Scorp, you WANT to be in the crucible of heat and pressure -- this is where you thrive and feel most productive.  But the drive that's admirable becomes relentless and obsessive at times.

Only you and you alone, know if you are in your groove of life, death, and life transformation -- or the stress is more on the destructive end of the scale.

Saturn, the tough love planet, is trailing your Sun again in 2014, so a similar theme continues.  Scorpio's with Suns between 16 and 29 degrees experience it most strongly, but others have the after-effects.  And that's the urge to be ultra productive, to scythe off waste and recycle what's salvageable.

Saturn in your sign Scorpio is like having a personal assistant, albeit a persistent one, to keep you on the straight and narrow.  Your Sun is your central purpose, and Saturn helps you give that shape, and lopping off what's only weighing you down.  Your usual penetrating focus is almost supernatural at this time, making it a stellar time to progress toward targeted goals.

Some new life structures are ready to be set in stone -- this could mean getting hitched, or committing to a new career path.  There can be dramatic endings, but they come with a sense that it's the natural order of things.

If you're caught up in a drama that's felt like an entanglement, you could finally see some closure.  Saturn exits your sign on December 24th, and likely leaves behind a gift -- greater knowing about who you are and what you want.  There's often a sense of freedom, since outdated soul contracts have been canceled, or updated.

Mutual Might

Your ruler Pluto (in Capricorn) is in a mutual reception with Saturn in your sign.  That means the penetrating force to get to the bottom, and rebuild from the ground up, has reinforcements.

In this time when so much is breaking apart, some wonder when it's going to end.  Your Scorpiocity gives you patience, and an instinct for knowing how to break through false bottoms, to get to solid ground.  It's rare to have the two heavies of transformation Saturn and Pluto as allies.  And it's why this year looks promising for serious manifesting -- making real progress to living the life of your dreams.

Staying Moist

Meanwhile, Jupiter in cordial Cancer to mid-year has you making sweet memories with those in your inner circle.  When you invest in friendships, there's a big return.  Jupiter urges downtime, like a vacation by the sea.  The women in your life can be guides or embody wisdom in a powerful way.

Scorpio is the only water sign I'd say is at risk for burn-out -- a Phoenix singed by the flames.  When the lucky planet reminds you to drink deeply from the wellspring of what's nourishing.  2013 was a flood zone of water energies, and that continues into 2014.

The planetary players in water show that progress comes from releasing your grip on what has a hold on you emotionally and psychically.  And that the answer to a stuck situation is sometimes to let go.

On the Bright Side

Jupiter switches signs, to Leo, on July 16th, for a sneak attack on your playful side.  The second half of 2014 is colored by more celebrations, high romance, attention to style, personal creativity, and doing things just for fun.
