How to Take the Belt Off a GE Dryer
- 1). Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
- 2). Open the door on the front of the GE dryer. Remove the screws along the underside of the top panel.
- 3). Lift the top panel up and allow it to rest on the wall behind the dryer.
- 4). Remove the screws on the front of the dryer on the left and right corners approximately 6 inches above the floor. Lift the front panel up and set aside.
- 5). Move the idler pulley away from the drum to loosen the belt.
- 6). Pull the drum a few inches toward the front of the dryer so the belt can be reached. Slide the belt off the drum.
