How Many Applications Should Be Submitted for a Job?
- You should only submit one application for each individual job that you apply for. If you submit a duplicate application, you could appear disorganized and forgetful, or if you submit an amended application or CV, you could appear dishonest.
- Resist the temptation to send another application if you do not hear a response. If you've waited over a month for a response, contact your prospective employer's human resources department with a follow-up call, email or letter to inquire about your application.
- If you send multiple applications to an employer you run the risk of coming across as forgetful, dishonest, or insecure. The recruitment process can take some time. Once you've made sure the prospective employer has safely received your application, you've done all you can.
