How to Calculate Series & Parallel Inductance
- 1). Locate each of the inductors in your circuit.
- 2). Identify the colors on each of the inductors with reference to the inductor color guide. Make a note of the values of each of the inductors in your circuit.
- 3). Add up the values of the inductors. The result is the series inductance of the circuit.
- 1). Locate each of the inductors in your circuit.
- 2). Identify the colors on each of the inductors with reference to the inductor color guide. Make a note of the values of each of the inductors in your circuit.
- 3). Take the reciprocal of each of the inductor values. Do this by dividing 1 by the inductor values. Make a note of each of these values.
- 4). Sum the values found in step 3. Make a note of this value.
- 5). Take the reciprocal of the value found in step 4. Do this by dividing 1 by the value found in step 4. The result will be the parallel inductance of the circuit.
