How to Build a Form on the SharePoint Designer Server Side

      Open your "View" menu and click on your "Folder List." This list will show you all of the options you have to create your form with.

    • 2). Open the library from which you want to build a form. The library stores the information and documents you have saved that you can use for your form.

    • 3). Right-click on a default form and select "Copy." In the Folder List, right-click the list and select "Paste." Open your form, click on it and press the right arrow key to keep your form within the web part.

    • 4). Expand your "Insert" menu, click on "SharePoint Controls" and click on "Custom List Form." This will help you create your form.

    • 5). Decide on what type of content form you wish to use. Click on that form. You will see "Type of form to create" and you can then determine which form you wish to use. Click on "OK."

    • 6). Hide the "List form web part," ensure links point to your form by right-clicking on the "Default list form web part," and open "Web part properties." Click on "Layout," click the "+" to expand and click on the box next to the word "Hidden."
