- 1). Wipe your face with a warm, damp washcloth. Excess oil on your skin could lead to uneven application or paint streaking.
- 2). Apply a light layer of white face paint all over the face with the applicator sponge. You should cover the eyebrows and lips, too.
- 3). Apply the paint by dabbling it on the skin. Do not wipe or spread the paint with long strokes. It will appear more uniform if you dab it on.
- 4). Add gray paint under the eyes to create a weary, sunken look. Apply the paint in small quantities, layering the paint until you reach the desired intensity.
- 5). Highlight other areas of the face with gray and beige paint. Mummies have leather-like skin, which is something to keep in mind as you apply the paint.
- 6). Paint wide bandages across the face with your darkest paint if you will not be draping any of the gauze over the face. Shade any area with a darker color where the illustrated bandage curves or bends.
- 7). Add extra shading or wipe the paint to streak the paint on and around the lips. You want to avoid streaking everywhere else on the face, but the mouth can be an exception. You want the lips to look tight and pursed.
