Social Media Tips - Top Football Coaches Are Using New Media

Today, practically every professional and amateur sports team has a website and a presence on top social media platforms.
Even many coaches have their own online presence.
The most important step when creating a social networking strategy for marketing your brand or company is to identify the platform that fits your goals and resources best.
Pete Carroll, the University of Southern California football team created CampPete.
com, an online football world for kids.
Other coaches with similar sites are Steve Spurrier, Charlie Weis and Barry Switzer.
The particular challenge they confronted was that their target user is a child age 5-12 which means social networking does not really reach them.
So instead they have had to tailor their social media approach to their parents and fans of the coaches.
When they began, they threw a pretty wide net and tried many different social networking sites.
Most of them showed little - if any - results.
But, when we tried YouTube, something clicked.
The difference is that they have the resources to make a real contribution in that platform.
They have a large library of short video clips from each of the coaches which are used in online games.
For YouTube, they have picked out some of the videos and released a new one once per week.
Now, some of the videos have over 500 views each.
And they have made a point to include a link to their site, and a short promo clip with every video so when someone watches the clip, they are also watching a commercial about their website for kids.
If you are out to attract prospective customers and develop your online presence and exposure, you owe it to yourself and the financial future of your business to learn everything you can about social media.
