China B2B Online Trade industry: Who is who?
Purchasing online directly from China is becoming increasingly popular and every day there are new websites created selling any sort of merchandise from China. Jack Ma (simplified Chinese 马云) - AliExpress (Alibaba Group) CEO
Born in the city of Hangzhou (Zhejiang province, China), Mr. Ma graduated from Hangzhou Normal University in 1989 where he became a lecturer in English and International Trade.
A visionary of his time, Jack Ma founded China Pages in 1995 which is believed to be China's first Internet-based company. In 1999 he founded the directory Alibaba.com which would change the international trade industry forever. The initially challenging process of finding importers or exporters became just one click away thanks to Jack Ma website. Currently Alibaba.com serves more than 40 million members from all over the world.
Jack Ma has expanded the Alibaba Group successfully into other verticals such as B2C marketplaces (Taobao), online payment systems (AliPay), technology services (Alibaba Cloud Computing), search engines (acquiring Yahoo! China) and advertisement platforms (AliMama, Koubei). Most of these companies are clear market leaders currently.
