How to Adjust Lawnmower Blades
- 1). Power off the lawnmower and remove any key required to run the device (if a key is needed).
- 2). Turn the lawnmower on its side if you are using a push mower. This exposes the underside of the mower and the blade.
- 3). Remove the grass that is stuck to the inside of the lawnmower and blade. This allows you to cut the grass closer and reduces the chance of the blade backing up from all the grass build up.
- 4). Turn the lawnmower back onto its wheels. Find the blade adjustment lever on the side of the mower. If you are using a driving mower, the lever is typically located alongside your leg. Pulling the lever up removes less grass while moving the lever down creates a closer cut.
