When it comes to the wedding planning process, make sure not to forget the most important and often the funnest part...

Even though it is a fun process, it still needs the same amount of attention as the other tasks you have to complete before the big day.
Let's face it, you want ahhh's not ewww's at your wedding.
What type of cake or frosting with you choose? How large will the cake be? What is your budget? These are probably only a couple of the many questions currently swirling around in your head.
Remember to take it one step at a time...
and breath.
Research, Research, Research: Before you even look for cake designers, it's ideal to start to do your own research as to what you expectations are for you wedding cake.
Research wedding cakes online, look through wedding magazines and books for cakes that inspire you.
Cut out these images and start to formulate what you want your cake to look like.
Once you have a couple of options for your wedding cake, now is the time to research cake designers.
Interview Cake Designers: Take your time and interview potential cake designers in your area.
Usually you can do a search online to see potential candidates in the area where you live.
Often times you will find websites that might give you a little more information about the designer.
Even so, you should then set-up appointments to actually interview the cake design face-to-face.
This will allow you to ask all of our questions and view samples of the cakes you may be interested in.
Choosing the Cake Design: Once you have met with all your cake designers, choose which designer meets all or most of your needs.
After the designer has been picked you will need to inform them as to exactly what you want your cake to look like.
Remember, in your initial meeting you might have shown them 2 or 3 examples of your "ideal" wedding cake, but now it's time to make the final decision.
The designer will be able to discuss all of your options and which cake would be the most appropriate.
Enjoy: Once you have made all of the decisions as they relate to your cake, it's all in the hands of the designer.
Try not to worry too much about the wedding cake.
Depending on how far in advance you contracted your cake designer, do call a week or so before your wedding to confirm the cake order with your designer.
Once you have done this there really isn't more that you can do, besides waiting to cut into the delicious wedding cake that you helped design at your wedding reception.
