    • 1). Sketch your vegetable garden and date it. The drawing can be rough. The main purpose is to give you a map on which you can mark the names of your current or most recent crops. Keep this drawing until you have completed harvesting.

    • 2). Make a new drawing, but this time simply mark out the plots. This drawing is going to help you plan your next set of crops. Date this drawing for future reference. Keeping a record of the kinds of plants you have grown and in which sections may help you solve problems in the future.

    • 3). Compare your new drawing with the original one. Wherever the original drawing shows tomatoes and peppers, mark the corresponding area of the new drawing with a crop that will restore nutrients such as beans, peas or any other legumes. Where the original drawing shows legumes or light feeders such as herbs or carrots, mark tomatoes and peppers in the corresponding part of the new drawing.
